Submission guidelines

The Regional Marine and Coastal Forum – FOMACO is a space for dialogue and consultation dedicated to the challenges of ocean governance, the conservation of marine and coastal ecosystems and the sustainable development of the coastline in West Africa.

 

Scheduled from April 27-30, 2026 in Nouakchott, Mauritania, the Forum will bring together institutional actors, civil society organizations, researchers, local communities, technical and financial partners, and private sector actors. Together, they will exchange ideas on concrete solutions, innovative initiatives, and multi-stakeholder partnerships to strengthen the resilience of coastal and marine territories.

 

The Forum will offer a rich program consisting of plenary sessions, technical workshops, side events, promoting the sharing of experiences, mutual learning and networking.

 

In this context, the organizing committee is launching a call for proposals for the Forum sessions. Individuals, organizations, and coalitions are invited to submit proposals highlighting:

Concrete and replicable initiatives

Innovative approaches to the management, governance and enhancement of marine and coastal ecosystems in West Africa

Experiences that promote regional cooperation and partnerships

This call for proposals represents a unique opportunity to enhance the value of your actions, to contribute to regional debates and to influence future directions in the conservation and sustainable development of marine and coastal areas.

Since 2004, the PRCM has organised the Regional Marine and Coastal Forum (FOMACO), which has become the essential meeting place for all stakeholders involved in the protection of marine and coastal ecosystems.
