Formats and sessions

The Forum offers a variety of formats designed to encourage innovation, inclusivity, and constructive dialogue. Each type of session offers a specific way to engage participants and foster collaboration between sectors and communities.

The plenary sessions

Les sessions plénières regroupent les cérémonies d’ouverture et de clôture, les conférences « keynotes » basées sur des notes techniques clés, ainsi que des présentations de projets.

Opening ceremony

A key moment in the Forum's inaugural event, the opening ceremony is designed to be both solemn and dynamic. It will feature an official address by a high-ranking official from the host country, followed by two or three speeches from representatives of partner organizations. These presentations will lay the strategic groundwork for the Forum and launch discussions, inviting participants to engage in collective reflection from the very first hours of the event.

High-level conferences and panels

The plenary sessions and thematic panels will bring together renowned experts, policymakers, scientists, conservationists, and committed young leaders. These sessions will address emerging and priority issues related to the Forum's theme, offering cross-disciplinary analyses, innovative perspectives, and strategic recommendations drawn from diverse fields and experiences.

Parallel activities

They are offered in the form of technical workshops and side events.

Technical workshops

Technical workshops provide a valuable space for sharing knowledge and experiences. They are designed for individuals wishing to present a technical or scientific paper, share the results of a project, initiative, or applied research. Each workshop will include three to four individual presentations and will last an hour and a half, with 10- to 15-minute presentations followed by interactive discussions to encourage exchanges among participants.

Side events

Side events are open to organizations working in coastal and marine areas. They can take many forms: training sessions on tools, techniques, or proven practices; roundtables dedicated to a specific topic related to the Forum's theme; institutional events hosted by an organization; or sessions to present initiatives, project results, or launch new tools. These spaces offer great flexibility and encourage innovation, collaboration, and networking.

Regional exhibition dedicated
in the marine and coastal environment

A regional exhibition will be set up to allow organizations, institutions, and projects to have a stand to showcase their activities, innovations, and results. This space will foster direct interaction with the public and all registered Forum participants, thereby strengthening opportunities for collaboration and increased visibility.

Excursions

The Forum will also offer the opportunity to discover Mauritania's rich natural heritage through immersive excursions to iconic sites such as Banc d'Arguin National Park and Diawling National Park. These visits will allow participants to better understand the close links between natural ecosystems and local communities, and to observe firsthand the challenges of conservation and sustainable management of coastal and marine areas.
Excursions are not free.
