About the Forum
FOMACO, the largest event for conservation stakeholders in West Africa
The Regional Marine and Coastal Forum (FOMACO) is the main meeting place for conservation stakeholders in West Africa. It brings together political decision-makers, parliamentarians, scientists, NGOs, local communities, private sector actors and funders, offering a unique platform to exchange, share experiences and co-create sustainable solutions for the preservation of marine and coastal ecosystems.
Initiated in 2004 by the PRCM, the Regional Marine and Coastal Forum has gradually established itself as an event regional scale reference, fostering cooperation and dialogue between different stakeholders. For over 20 years, the Forum has contributed to strengthening shared governance, raising awareness of issues related to marine and coastal biodiversity, and promoting sustainable practices in natural resource management.
Over the years, the Forum has enabled to highlight concrete initiatives, to support regional public policies and inspire innovative projects in the field of conservation. Today, it constitutes a engine of collaboration and action actors from West Africa.
